Week 1, June 14-June 18

Jewelry and Funky Wearables

Design and create funky jewelry and wearable art.  You’ll learn the basics of jewelry making; riveting, soldering, and surface embellishments as you combine traditional materials with found objects to create your own designs.

Lampworking: Glass Beads

Explore the process of lampworking. Learn how to create glass cane to form your own beads.

Week 2: June 21-25

Mesmerizing Monotype

Monotypes are spontaneous and fun. Learn to produce one-of-a-kind prints. Often referred to as the “painterly prints”, they offer infinite creative possibilities!

Glass Blowing: Paperweights

Get an introduction to glassblowing. Design and create your own paperweight.

Week 3: June 28-July 2

Creative Painting Techniques

Explore a variety of media including acrylic, tempera, and watercolor. Paint from your imagination, the landscape, and other things around you.

Kiln Working: Glass Fusing & Slumping

Learn the basics of kiln working. Create objects such as jewelry, dishes, or flat images using glasscutters, molds, and a glass kiln.

Week 4: July 5-9

Wearable Art

Oh My! What will I wear? There are many methods and techniques to creating clothes and objects to wear. Have fashion forward fun and learn about design using color and pattern.

Glass Blowing: Paperweights

Get an introduction to glassblowing. Design and create your own paperweight.

Week 5: July 12-16

Destination Animation

Explore the origins of animation. Begin with a storyboard and learn how to animate hand-drawn characters.

Lampworking: Glass Beads

Explore the process of lampworking. Learn how to create glass cane to form your own beads.

Week 6: July 19-23

Don’t Waste, Refashion!

Discover the cool creative potential of recyclable plastics. Learn how to heat-form, pop-rivet, cut, and fasten to make whimsical mobiles, pins, and more.

Week 7: July 26-30

Luminous Linocut

Linocuts can transform a simple image into a graphic form. Learn to plan an image, carve a plate, work in positive & negative, and print with one or more colors.

Week 8: August 2-6

Digital Design & Illustration

Experiment with a digital toolbox of brushes and pens to illustrate your digital photos.

Captivating Collagraphs

It’s all about texture and collage this week as we explore intaglio and collage relief print-making.

Explore Acrylics!

Push the limits with the world’s most versatile medium, acrylic painting. Make your paintbrush dance on various surfaces: canvas, clothes, shoes, or whatever catches your fancy. Learn traditional and non-traditional painting techniques using various tools from brushes to brayers.
