Art Camp for Ages 5 & 6

9am to 3pm, Monday – Friday

five and six year old art campersCampers enjoy a week of art-filled experiences, including stories, songs, and games in a self-contained classroom. Children will explore various art mediums, such as water color, oil pastels, tempera paints, collage, and sculpture in both guided and self-guided experiences.

Daily Schedule:

9 -10 Art Studio 1 (self-guided)

10 -10:15 Clean-up

10:15 -10:30 Break

10:30-10:45 Sketch Book Time

10:45-11:15 Art Studio 2 (guided)

11:15-11:30 Clean-up

11:30-noon Music Arts

Crayons are going to take their “jackets” off this week as we explore texture, magic pictures, and crayon etching.

Week 2: June 21 – 25

ImagiNation

Let your creative mind run wild! Create an imaginary world of fantastic flying machines, magical creatures and their habitats.

Week 3: June 28 – July 2

What a Colorful World!

Calling all color detectives! Be the primary investigator to solve the mysteries of color. Why do some buzz next to each other while others hum happily in harmony?

Nature’s Nursery

What’s in your backyard? Explore the eco-world of trees, bees, and buggy creatures using eco-friendly materials.

Week 5: July 12 – 16

Puppet Playhouse

Puppets speak a universal language. Join us as we set the “stage” to transform simple line drawings into puppets. Lots of giggles included!

Week 6: July 19 – 23

Carve it! Paint it! Print it!

Hey kids! Let’s learn the joys of printmaking! We’ll teach you everything you need to know to create cool, one-of-a-kind relief prints.

Week 7: July 26 – 30

A Sticky Situation

What to do with a squirt of glue? Well, collage and collé, to name a few!

Week 8: August 2 – 6

ExperiPaint

Who says you need a paintbrush? Jackson Pollock didn’t. Create some awesome effects with your fingers, some marbles, a little string, and even your breath!

Week 9: August 9 – 13

You’ve Got to Move It! Move It!

Movement and Art make for a fine pair of dancers! Discover Degas’ dancers and Matisse’s method of drawing with scissors.

Week 10: August 16 – 20

Ooey, Gooey, Squishy, Squashy

Science and art together make for a recipe of FUN! Create your own watercolor cakes, silly putty, and more.
