Sweet EscapeWho are you when no one else is around? Teenagers and young children in private spaces is the subject of this photography exhibition. Andrea Land captures affluent young girls in their non-descript, light-filled bedrooms. Kay Denton uses vintage techniques to finish her portraits of children in the woods that look like they were taken ages ago. Juanita Hong juxtaposes photos of teens in their rooms along with written essays by her subjects of how their rooms define them. Melanie McWhorter photographs her young subjects, capturing toddlers and young children in rare moments of quiet. Debbie Miracolo documents the fleeting quality of youth in her sitters, photographing them in their homes and their neighborhoods. Where’s YOUR sweet escape? Photograph yourself in the place where you go to unwind, or to be yourself and send it to the Morean. Tell us why this specific place is special to you. We’ll post your photo on the gallery and on our website, along with your thoughts. After the exhibition opens on January 15th viewers will have an opportunity to vote on their favorite escape,
