Calls For Entry

For information about future Calls for Entry, please contact Amanda Cooper at (727) 822-7872.

The Morean Arts Center is looking for artists to utilize the Open Space to exhibit their work, make new art, and engage the public in the art-making process for short periods during the next two years.

Purpose/About the program

The purpose of this program is to encourage and facilitate the creation of fine art, to provide artists with a professional space to exhibit their work, and to connect people in our community with these artists.

Resident Artists will be Required to:

work in the Open Space during the Morean’s regular business hours (Monday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm) a minimum of 25 hours per week. A schedule of dates and times must be agreed upon ahead of time and adhered to during the residency.

Engage the public, either via art demonstrations, community art activities, and/or collaborations with other artists

Exhibit their artwork in the Open Space. Sales are encouraged, and the Morean will retain a 35% commission from any work sold during the residency.

Supply the Morean with a list of necessary art supplies prior to the residency. The Morean has a small budget to cover some, but not necessarily all, of the studio costs.

Eligibility

This program seeks to attract dynamic visual artists from the Tampa Bay area who are comfortable meeting the public. Emerging artists (artists who have not had a long exhibition record, or established artists who are moving in a different direction) are especially encouraged to apply.
