The Art of Collecting:Forging a relationship between artist and collectorThe Arts Center's Art of Collecting Series offers an informative presentation on varying aspects of acquiring, presenting, and maintaining an art collection. Past lectures have included information on regional and national trends in art; financial and tax consequence for private collectors; the benefits of a corporate art collection, and other topics of interest to both aspiring and experienced collectors. Thursday, February 10 at 6:30pmMeet the Master Artist -- Eddie Dominguez This evening's discussion features a prominent local collector and Arts Center board member, and noted sculptor Eddie Dominguez speaking on the artist-collector relationship, and the many rewards such a relationship may offer. Dominguez, recipient of two NEA grants, is known primarily for his monumental organic tableaux exploring environmental issues. Sculpture and pottery as artistic mediums are inherently collaborative undertakings and there is a tactile component to sculpted or ceramic pieces that invites familiarity. Come join us as for an evening designed to illuminate and educate attendees on yet another fascinating aspect of collecting and art ownership.
