Arts Center "Family Day" Promises Fun-filled Activities, Educational Events, and Hands-on DemonstrationsWhere: The Arts Center, 719 Central Ave., St. Pete, FL 33701 Date: November 13, 2005 Time: 1-4 pm The Arts Center hosts its FREE, semi-annual Family Day on Sunday, November 13th from 1-4 pm with a fun-filled afternoon interacting with local artists, demonstrations of stone carving, raku firing, and cartooning, as well as a sidewalk sale, a performance by the Soulful Arts Dancers performance, and the "Class Menagerie" Word and Image award ceremony. Since 1998, The Arts Center has worked with Pinellas County schools to create Word & Image: Arts in Education Partnership. The Arts Center hosts four of these juried exhibits each year, including work from students at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Each year, students are challenged to create a work of art based on a particular theme, and to incorporate a written statement within the piece.
