Beginning Jewelry Making: Part 1

This class is for someone that has little or no experience in metal jewelry making, or as a “back to the basics” class. Students will learn basic skills in Metalsmithing while being introduced to materials, tools, studio safety, and basic design. The fundamental jewelry making skills of filing, sawing, texturing, torch soldering, and basic forming will be introduced. Each week new skills will be incorporated into a new project. Students will complete 2-3 pieces of jewelry using copper, brass and sterling silver.
