Draw out your creativity. Each class is an independent lesson. An ongoing learning experience, it can be taken repeatedly, the next time it will be different. Learning to see, experimenting with materials, trying different approaches all allow for an enormous range of creative experiences. Improve your pictorial composition while refining your technical skills with different drawing materials including wet media and pastels. Most classes use both a both a conceptual and technical approach. Instead of focusing on just drawing things, we will also draw ideas. There will be exercises to help make our drawings look like the things they are trying to depict, but equal attention is on why we draw rather than how to draw. Our general goals are of self-expression and self-discovery. We will experiment with various materials to aid you to access your imagination, memory and emotions to create a synthesis of what you see and what you want to say about it.
Most classes will include a defined subject, technique or approach and a separate focus on imagination, concept or expression. There may be a nude model for some later classes. Students would split the model fee.
