In this workshop, your fun-loving instructors, Maria Scuderi and Marita Lynch will teach you the basic tools of creating something out of nothing within a safe, free-flowing, positive arena. Performing easy group games and using various techniques, Improv can ignite creativity and build confidence, trust, and camaraderie. Improvisation is for anyone that has a curious mind, is willing to take risks, stay open to suggestions, and knows how to be an agreeable co-creator. Get ready to climb outside of the box and onto the playground of unlimited, spontaneous possibilities in improv recreation.

Workshop #3: Fun Life Improv with Dick & Liz

Richard and Elizabeth are professional artists by day and unofficial clowns by night. Making themselves and others laugh is a favorite pastime of theirs. Their workshop will include fun group games and basic improv techniques to get your creativity flowing.

The Improv Connection Team:

Maria Scuderi is an advocate and coach for the art of creative self-expression. With a Master’s in art education and history in the performing Arts, Maria began improv in Portland, Oregon, and continued at American Stage and Jon Huls’ Artsy Improv. Her latest performance was a sketch comedy performance at Studio 620. Creating welcoming environments for all students to feel safe and free to fully and radically express themselves is part of her mission!

Marita Lynch is a veteran of American Stage and Jon Huls’ Improv classes. She has performed stand-up at Studio 620 and The Mar. She believes that Improv is the best route to personal happiness through playfulness, connection, joy, and fun.

Mary Rachel Quinn is a veteran actress and part-time acting teacher. She has and is currently acting in Improv and both television and films. One of MaryRachel’s favorite words is laughter. Improv = Laughter = Joy! Let’s play.

Elizabeth Barenis is a professional artist originally from Greenville, Mississippi. She first enrolled in improv classes when she moved to St. Petersburg in 2015, and has since completed the American Stage Improv Training Program among other workshops and intensives. She also produces short films and acts in an immersive theater troupe.

Richard Seidel is an artist, as well as a standup Comedian. He studied at American Stage, and McCurdy Comedy Club, in Sarasota, Florida. Seidel’s favorite quote is laughter is the best medicine.
