with Amy Ilic-Volpe

Mondays, 6 classes

4:00pm – 6:00pm

Offered for:

Fall Session 2 (Nov 7, 14, 21, 28, Dec 5, 12)

Class will return in Spring.

Mixed Media Madness will be an exploration of artistic materials that will stretch your child’s creative expression.

The Mission: to expose students to aspects of art history, current art makers, and the elements of art, while we introduce ways to layer, build and test creative boundaries with multiple mediums! We will experiment with collage, assemblage, sculpture, textiles, and fiber. Your mini artist will be encouraged to let their imaginations run wild! The most important aspect of this course will be creating a space for your child to slow down, be in the moment, and be comfortable trying something new.

Members: $140

Non-Members: $190

Instructor Bio:

Amy is a St. Petersburg, Florida native. She is inspired by sunshine and the easygoing vibe or her hometown. She has a great appreciation for the artistic energy her little city exudes. Amy’s work is a reflection of her appreciation for fun, adventure, experimentation, and process. Amy is an educator at heart and has 20 years of experience in art education and youth programming.

She is an intuitive artist and maker, who is intrigued by mark-making and fluid applications of color and shape. She lets her mediums speak through her and she engages with them in free and loose movement. She oftentimes allows the process of art-making to be the true representation of art. The beauty is in the experience. The artwork evolves as a visceral and emotional practice.

Amy is also part of the Experience Management Team for Fairgrounds St. Pete, a new immersice art experience in St. Petersburg, Florida.
