We will experiment with many of the pre and post firing surface techniques. Students will have the option to throw on the potter’s wheel, or make hand-built forms. This class will explore the techniques of inlay, sgraffito, slip transfers, slip trailing, terra sigillata, and everything in between. This class will allow for the exploration of surface decoration on functional and sculptural works. All skill levels are welcome, so join in and let’s scratch the surface of surface decoration.
