Join us for a fun and energetic class with Morean Artist in Residence Jon Green. In this class you will learn the basics of wheel throwing from beginning to end. Jon will share his techniques and experience to help you go beyond the basic wheel thrown form using both wheel and hanbuilding techniques to create unique, sculptural vessels. Students will gain the basic understaniding of how to work in a ceramic studio. All glazes and firings are included in the class price.
Demonstrations start at 10am. Open work time for the early birds starts at 9:30am.

Phoenix – Made by Highwater Clays. Fires to a light tan in color. Great clay for beginners. Smooth enough to throw on the potter’s wheel, but strong enough to withstand most hand-building techniques. Can be fired from Cone 6 to Cone 10.
Speckled Brownstone – Made by Highwater Clays. Fires to a light brown in color with small black specs. Great for throwing on the potter’s wheel. Can be fired to Cone 6.

Tuition Refund Policy: Full refund or credit will be issued for any class cancelled by the Morean Arts Center. A $25 processing fee is deducted for all other student refund requests. No refunds will be issued on or after the first day of class.
