Artist’s Statement

My paintings are an abstraction of my thoughts on the human experience, both physical and spiritual. The intermingling and undulating layers of energetic vibrations of the etheric body, physical body, and the soul create a rich, deep, and meaningful vision of wholeness for me. In my art, I explore the idea that each individual is an encapsulated habitat —a separate, yet interconnected microcosm of our community.

My process is manipulative and tactile, often using my fingers deliberately and intently to massage the medium into the canvas. This produces a textured surface upon which I portray the palpable, mechanical, and intangible forces that reflect our deepest nature. Each painting has an individual idea, or “thought”, that when put together shows the complicated and multifaceted nature of being.
