Closer, closer… a little closer–discover all the beauty you are passing by in this 3-day adventure with National Geographic Explorer photographer Matthew Cicanese. Matthew’s work examines “underdog organisms”, threatened ecosystems, and human interactions with the environment.

A National Geographic Explorer, Matthew is also an Emerging League Photographer with the International League of Conservation Photographers and a Destination Workshop instructor with Canon USA. Learn more about him and his work at MatthewCicanese.com

In this workshop, you will learn about lenses and lighting and how to identify what you are looking at. Art and science come together. Friday will start in the classroom and will include an afternoon field trip. Saturday we will take an all day adventure to Myakka River State Park. Sunday you will edit and tone images for critique with guidance from Matthew.

Students must have manual exposure understanding of their camera and a macro lens.
