Fire Painting & Other Surface Enhancements

Winter Session 1 (Jan 4, 11, 18, 25, Feb 1, 8)

Learn to add beautiful finishes to your jewelry through patination. We will use household chemicals to produce exciting colors to the surfaces and learn the best methods to preserve the finished results. We will also experiment with fire painting on copper to produce a large array of colors. Surfaces can also be layered to produce an inlayed effect. Finally we will learn to reticulate silver which results in a deeply textured surface pattern.

Connie Hubbard has been a silversmith for over 30 years. Her work is available in galleries here in Saint Petersburg and in Ohio. In addition to her metalwork career, she was a high school/college teacher for 30 years in the Ohio Public School system where she received many teacher awards including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Teaching.  She is a very enthusiastic, patient and excellent at helping students.
