This workshop will teach you the essentials of watercolor painting, such as how to blend colors, create washes, and use different techniques in watercolor. First you will observe Joan’s live demonstration and then experiment on your own artwork, inspired by a photo or picture that you pick. You will benefit from the individual support and feedback, which will help you resolve any issues and advance your abilities. This workshop welcomes all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. You will experience the fun and beauty of watercolor painting and grow your own artistic expression and confidence creating art.

Teacher bio:

Joan Franzen is a professional artist and judge, who has been working in all mediums for over 55 years. She has degrees in both Fine Art and Commercial Art, and has received numerous awards, such as Best of Show, First Place, and Purchase Awards. She has been on TV and has received a grant to teach High school students. She conducts workshops, classes and demonstrations in Wisconsin, Florida, and Illinois. She displays her works in three galleries and has sold her paintings to corporate and private collectors in the United States and Europe. She is a member of many prestigious art organizations and is a respected figure in the art community.
