Inspired by the devil-may-care spirit of skateboarding and the heathenistic ethos of a rough-and-tumble youth, this work explores inherent risk as manifest through observation and action. The physical action of fragmentation coalesces with collaged imagery in guise of poetic surveillance. Surveying and experience as lived through action.

 

Artist Bio:
 Israel “Izzy” Davis is an artist whose work plays between the boundaries of object and image. He has taught numerous workshops and exhibited nationally and internationally. Izzy’s work ranges in content from personal narratives, observations, particulars, and fun. He is a professor and head of ceramics at Central Michigan University.
