with Erica Bleu
2 Day Workshop
December 13th: 5pm – 7:30pm
December 14th: 12pm – 2:30pm
All Skill Levels
This 2-day workshop will go over many techniques that Erica Bleu has extensive experience with. These techniques include slip trailing, water etching, and underglaze painting. The first day will cover ways of making and applying slip as well as time for hands-on practice. During this, students will explore how to use squeeze bottles and an air pen. The second day will consist of how to water etch as well as creating a refined illustration with black underglaze. Participants are highly encouraged to bring pieces that are ready for decorating ranging from soft forms for slip decorations and greenware for water etching and underglaze painting. For the best results, a clay body with no grog is preferred, but not required. If students do not bring finished forms or would like more, extra cups will be available for purchase. All other materials will be provided for participants to borrow during the workshop days.
Purchase clay prior to your first class by calling 727-821-7162 ext. 2311 Please note that we are open Wed-Sat 10am-5pm
