The origin of Mesopotamia, where the earliest known examples were made from colored stones, shells, and ivory.
The art form spread to ancient Greece, where artists refined it into a more structured art, using small pebbles to create patterns and scenes.
In this glass mosaic class, students will design and create their own mosaics using glass.
Students will gain knowledge, experience, and be proud to display their creative work.

Lauren B. Hill attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale earning a BFA in Glass.
Hill has worked, studied, and taught across the United States including teaching for the Chihuly Collection and was the active director for DMG School Project in St. Petersburg, FL.
The Morean Art Center was her first glass position outside of SIUC, and she is thrilled to be back where her career started.
