Transform raw metal into a custom, hand-forged cuff bracelet in this high-energy, 3-hour workshop!
Students will learn the basics of forging and forming metal, including how to measure and size a cuff, use texturing hammers, and safely anneal metal with a torch. Each participant will leave with a finished, professional-grade piece of jewelry in copper or brass. Sterling silver will be available for purchase if the student wishes to upgrade.
Artist Bio:
Ashley Wix is a self-taught silversmith from Springfield, Tennessee, now based in Gulfport, Florida. She combines her background as a dental technician – where she honed a passion for precision and metal – with her knowledge of silversmithing, to create intricate, handcrafted jewelry. Specializing in sterling silver, her work often incorporates ethically sourced stones and bones, drawing connection between her art and the natural world. She is also passionate about sharing her foundational skills with aspiring silversmiths.Â
