Imagine a beautiful field of sunflowers on a bright sunny day. That’s the feeling you will get when you create your own Sparkling Glass Sunflower! You will learn how to repurpose upcycled glass by “nipping” it with glass cutters into the shapes you desire. Next, you will build your bold blossom on a 12′ x 12″ cradled wood panel. You may personalize your Sparkling Glass Sunflower by adding small items, such as a piece of costume jewelry, buttons, or other mementos from your personal stash. Your creation will be coated with clear resin to permanently unite everything. The resin requires 24 hours to set, so students may pick up their complete projects on Monday. The final results are worth the wait!

Laura York – Maker & Joy Seeker
“I’ve been a maker since I was four years old. My mom encouraged me to try everything and to invest my time in learning. My curiosity has led me to take countless classes, from collegiate arts to slow stitching, quilt-making, glass collage, decoupage, furniture painting, and anything else I find interesting. Luckily, most creative people are kind-hearted and love to share their talents. That’s the joy my mom knew I would love.”
