This workshop will introduce participants to basic monoprinting techniques. Students will learn basics about inks, plates, papers, and the press (Beginning with press safety). They will learn some basic monoprint techniques such as stenciling, layering, sculpting with inks, painting, ect.



This workshop is intended to be useful for All Levels of skill and experience. Students will work at their own pace, and after an introductory lecture, can have as much or as little of the instructor’s guidance as they choose in the course of realizing their monoprint goals.
Russell Pachman received a BFA from CalArts in 1993, after which he lived in San Francisco for 30 years. During his time in California, he developed his art practice in various print media, including silver photography, monoprint, intaglio, and more. He is a member of the California Society of Printmakers, through which his work has been published. His work is held in collections around the world, including the United States Library of Congress Collection of Prints and Photographs. Russell moved to Saint Petersburg in 2023 and cannot overstate how thrilled he is to be with such a vibrant arts community.
