More Art More Creativity More Experiences More Engagement More Impact

Larry’s involvement with the Morean including teaching photography classes. His sculpture, Inevitable Silence of Machines, won Best of Show in the Arts Center’s 11th Annual All-Florida Spring Juried Exhibition in 1999, juried by Janis Karam Gallo. That was the first exhibition in the Morean’s current gallery space. The Morean mounted a posthumous solo exhibition for Larry in 2003 as part of a 40th anniversary celebration of PCCA. It was clear from this exhibition how much he had impacted his students over the years. Larry was a highly motivated, gifted artist. He was able to create amazing works of art and was able to help his students kindle the creative energy necessary to pursue their artistic goals. Larry also expressed his appreciation for The Morean Art Center’s continued support of local artists and Pinellas County Schools’ art students and faculty.
