Join us for a six-week class with resident artist Nina Samuels learning different alternative firing techniques. This course covers raku, naked raku, and saggar firing. Open to all levels with some prior clay experience. Artists with already made work or bisqueware highly encouraged!

249 – Buff colored stoneware. Smooth enough to throw on the potter’s wheel, but strong enough to withstand most hand-building techniques. Can be fired from Cone 6 to Cone 10.Â
Speckled Brownstone – Made by Highwater Clays. Fires to a light brown in color with small black specs. Great for throwing on the potter’s wheel. Can be fired to Cone 6.Â
Brooklyn Red – Rich dark red colored clay. Contains grog that makes it exceptionally strong for sculpting or throwing large vessels. Can be fired to Cone 6.Â
240 White – Made by Standard clay. Very smooth, plastic throwing body that fires to Cone 6.

Tuition Refund Policy:Â Full refund or credit will be issued for any class cancelled by the Morean Arts Center. A $25 processing fee is deducted for all other student refund requests. No refunds will be issued on or after the first day of class.
