Professional photojournalist Lance Rothstein will start this class by guiding you through the basics of Digital Photography and then ease you into some of the more advanced concepts.
In this course we will focus on learning to use your camera properly and unlocking all of its potential. Whether you’re using a new Mirrorless System, a DSLR, a Camera Phone, or even a Film Camera, you’ll learn the different “shooting modes” and which are best for you. Class sessions will cover subjects as:
- Learning Your Camera’s Menu Options
- Understanding ISO, Aperture, & Shutter Speed (The Exposure Triangle)
- Lens Selection (Wide angle vs Telephoto)
- Filters
- Selecting a Focusing Mode
- Exposure Compensation
- Flash & Natural Lighting
We’ll then move on to more aesthetic topics such as Composition and Content, before diving head-first into The Editing Process.
The last few classes will center on using editing tools such as Light Room and Photoshop, or apps such as SnapSeed. We’ll also discuss different methods of storing and accessing your images safely, so you don’t lose all your pictures when your computer crashes, or you phone falls in the bay.
This is for both beginning and slightly advanced photographers who are interested in how their own (and other) cameras work and making better exposures.
