Beginner friendly workshop for an introduction to printmaking for anyone curious about exploring new materials and creative process. No prior printmaking experience is required to work at a comfortable pace with guided demonstration and time for experimentation to explore a variety of traditional and nontraditional printmaking techniques which can include simple relief linocuts, collagraphs, plaster prints, monoprints, solar plates, dry point and/or Caran d’Ache. Artists are encouraged to play, mix techniques and personalize work by incorporating collage, watercolor and chine-collé. Printing process es will be guided by materials, allowing for flexibility, discover and individual creative expression.

Artist Bio
Dawn relocated to St. Petersburg, FL. in 2021 following her instincts to evolve with the growing artist community. Her early life on the South Shore of Long Island established water, beach environs, and natural habitats important to her art development. She relocated to Manhattan to enroll at Parsons School of Design in Graphic and Communication Arts for graphic arts, believing it to be the visual language of her generation. She views current visual literacy and references in our daily lives significant to the arts to defined with new avenues for expression. Dawn believes combining art, science, and technology will be the future of artistic expression…art that speaks of a culture and its people. When returning to Pratt Institute as an older student she found purpose, confidence, and self-awareness of her abilities as a learner, teacher, and artist. The combination of an MA in Studio Arts, BFA in Art & Design Education, and Communication Arts combined with professional experience as an Art Director in advertising and publishing communication arts gives her work as a fine artist a unique perspective. Printmaking is Dawn’s current venue for artistic expression.
