Experience the excitement of raku firing paired with the tranquility of locally grown flowers in this unique seasonal workshop. Participants will gain hands-on experience glazing and firing their own raku piece, with bisque ware provided by the instructor. While the kiln heats up, we’ll head over to Padmé Flower Farm across the street from the Morean Center for Clay, where you’ll get to harvest your own regeneratively grown blooms for your arrangement led by farmer-florist Anya Jain. Once the kiln reaches temperature and the reduction pit is prepared, pieces will be pulled from the kiln for a fiery reveal. After your raku piece is complete, you’ll be introduced to the fundamentals of flower arranging and create a beautiful seasonal display to take home.

Artist Bio:
Anya Jain is a farmer-florist at Padmé Flower Farm. When she’s not at the farm with her golden retriever Wally, she also freelances with wedding florists in the area. Her personal style is to create wild arrangements highlighting seasonal blooms and foraged greenery.
About the Flowers:
Padmé Flower Farm is a new farm in the heart of St Pete, FL in the Warehouse Arts District. We grow specialty cut flowers using agroecological methods, and offer seasonal weekly U-Picks, bouquets and event florals, and arts and educational workshops at the farm.
