Talk about the torch; how to turn on, what the knobs control, hotter/ softer parts of flame, different flames for different jobs (most important tool!) 

Tools and gases:

Glass as a tool, glasses, tweezers, sculpting knife, graphite vs. steal 

Oxygen and propane as fuel to run torch and heat glass 

How to hold the rod, how to turn and what turning does (centrifugal force)
