Cast a different kind of shadow this Winter! Follow John Bradford along in two informative and rewarding workshops on building and firing a Groundhog Kiln here at the Morean Center for Clay. During the first session, you are invited to take part in the construction of the kiln over the course of 5 days (Dec 10-14). Participants are welcome to come and go as they need to. Prepare to get down and dirty while getting first hand experience in building a unique wood kiln.
On December 27, prepare to close out the year with a load in of personal work. The kiln will then be fired over the 28th and 29th. The 2024 holiday season still has surprises left for us!
Participants can sign up for one or either class. If you plan to attend both sessions, maker sure to register for both dates (Dec 10 and Dec 27). Registration is $10 (each) with a $50 fee for building supplies and $50 for wood. Material fees are paid directly to your instructor. SPACE IS LIMITED!
Please dress appropriately for both workshops: Long pants, close-toed shoes. During firing, participants MUST wear long sleeves and natural fiber clothing.
