You will have the autonomy of an open studio experience with the support of an instructor available to answer questions and offer tips on technique.

You have basic metalsmith knowledge and want time to practice your skills
You have specific projects in mind that can be done with the foundational skills
You have completed an Introductory level metalsmithing class but don’t feel ready for more advanced knowledge yet

In this 4 hour weekly session you will have the opportunity to work on exactly what you choose to do. You will supply your own metals and materials. An instructor will be in the studio at all times and available to help you as needed. Tips or help troubleshooting, basic project ideas, and advancing general knowledge of tools and techniques are all things you can expect in guided open studio. You will have the flexibility to go about your projects at your own pace. And have the guidance of an instructor if needed or wanted.

My name is MJ. I have been a silversmith since 2015, when I learned the artform at Pikes Peak Community College, where I was also a teacher’s assistant for 2 years. I have been a jeweler in two upscale boutiques, and had success selling my jewelry in stores, at markets, and online. Metalsmithing is my passion, and I love to share the techniques of the craft with others!
