If you have already learned how to saw, hammer, solder, polish, and set a stone but you are wanting more time to practice and hone your skills, then this class is for you! We will build on the basics of what you have learned in any beginner class.

In Intermediate Metalsmithing you will learn how to plan and design your piece, how to set stones with an angle (like teardrop and square), add decorative wire and elements to your pieces, create detailed ring shanks, ball and twist wire, and more! You will have time to focus on specific projects or basic skills that interest you with personalized instructor guidance. This class will help you take your pieces to the next level.

There is no materials fee. You are responsible for attaining your own supplies for the projects you want to work on. The first day of class will include planning for pieces and we will do a group metal order from RioGrande.com to stock up on all the metals and stones for your projects.

My name is MJ. I have been a silversmith since 2015, when I learned the artform at Pikes Peak Community College, where I was also a teacher’s assistant for 2 years. I have been a jeweler in two upscale boutiques, and had success selling my jewelry in stores, at markets, and online. Metalsmithing is my passion, and I love to share the techniques of the craft with others!
