If you have already learned how to saw, hammer, solder, polish, and set a stone but you are wanting more time to practice and hone your skills, then this class is for you! You will build on the foundations of what you have learned in any beginner class.

Intermediate Metalsmithing is an open format class where you get to choose your direction of focus, while having teacher support and guidance on your personal projects. Whether you have specific projects you want to work on, or you choose from a list of project ideas- this class gives you the opportunity to practice the skills you enjoy and take your pieces to the next level.

This class begins with a group lesson on how to plan your pieces and order the correct metals for your projects. Then you will have individual time with the teacher to plan your goals for the session. On the first day you will have the opportunity to order any metals you need for your projects in a group order from RioGrande.com. Materials will be available the second week of class. *There is no set materials fee. You will be responsible to pay for what you order via Zelle, Venmo, or Cash on the first day of class.

You will also learn further studio maintenance practices, such as setting up the torch station, pickle pot, etc. You must have working knowledge of the studio in order to participate in Open Studio Hours, and this class will help you feel comfortable and knowledgeable with the equipment.
