Join us for a relaxed, two-hour photo walk through Boyd Hill Nature Preserve in St. Petersburg.  We’ll focus on photography’s main ingredient: LIGHT!  On the walk, we’ll follow the late-afternoon sun through Boyd Hill, chasing long shadows, striking silhouettes, and the dramatic contrast that golden hour brings to this stunning preserve.

Along the way, we’ll stop at a handful of spots with different lighting challenges, each with a small prompt to spark ideas. You’ll practice spotting interesting light, framing shadows as subjects, seeing light from different angles, and exposing for high-contrast scenes.  In the case of light rain or overcast skies, we will leverage the magic of diffused light.  We’ll wrap up with a quick show-and-tell to share your favorite frames, and all participants will be invited to join Michelle’s private online photography community.

All skill levels and cameras are welcome, from phones to film. Just bring curiosity and comfortable shoes.

Meet at: Boyd Hill Nature Preserve Visitors Center, 1101 Country Club Way S, St. Petersburg, FL 33705
