MonoPrint - Abstract Painting with Brayers

$20 -Materials fee, paid directly to the teacher at the start of class. 

This course is focused on form, shape, color and composition, and how to use them in combination when creating art!

Students will learn the basics of color and how color placement can be used to create a certain feeling within the piece. Participants will also learn how shape and shape placement can help in achieving a pleasing composition, how they can continue to use their new skills, and how to propperly and safely operate the printing press.  Pushing expectations, students can achieve all of this with simple paint/ink and rollers/brayers (No Brushes Allowed). 

Supplies:

All tools and supplies will be provided by Pat Manginelli and The Morean Arts Center. 

Optional: Students may bring a smooth plexiglass plate as an alternative printing surface. Purchase instructions below.

1. Search for a Plaskolite Non-Glare plate, either 8” X 10” or 11” X 14” with thickness of .050 or 1.3 mm.
2. These plates usually have a clear film protecting them with blue printing identifying the brand. 
3. Plates range in price from $5.00 to $10.00.
