With Jenny Day
Friday – SaturdayÂ
March 27th – 28th 2026
Time: 10am – 3pm
Price: $250
In this workshop students will learn handbuilding and surface techniques and work as a community towards an atmospheric firing.Â
Â
Students will learn hand building techniques to create sculptures of their choice. Topics covered will include the breakdown of a form into parts, pinching, coiling, slabs, refiring, and attachment of multiple clay pieces. Themes will include narrative in sculpture and attention to surface and texture. This workshop will discuss underglaze application in bisque firing techniques and multiple glaze firings. New work made can then be bisque fired once dry at the Morean Art Center at a later date.Â
Â
Second, we will have an atmospheric firing as a group, unloading and loading the kiln to 6Â Cone –Â as a class.
Participants should bring with them 6 Cone stoneware that has already been bisque fired or bone dry work to be fired during the workshop. Morean Clay Art Center will have a number of glazes and slips appropriate for this firing available for use during the workshop.
