Sarah is not only an accomplished potter, but a lively demonstrator and hands-on instructor. She is ready to help you take your wheel throwing to the next level with invaluable insights on technique and aesthetics. This four day pottery extravaganza will also include a presentation on the Village Potters Clay Center, one of Western North Carolina’s largest and most premiere ceramic studios. This vibrant clay center was subjected to 24.5 foot high floodwater. Sarah will cover everything from the studio’s inception to its current artists, status, and efforts to rebuild.

Topics and Skills:

1. Throw with ALL of the clay
2. Altering
3. Darting
4. Shaving
5. Handles that complement the form (pulled and wheel thrown)
