Screen Printing and Clay Workshop with Israel Davis

Join Israel Davis for a one-day screen printing on ceramics workshop. Learn how he uses screens to create transferred imagery that lends itself to complex surfaces. Participants can bring leather hard greenware for an opportunity to practice the transferring process. This workshop is open to all levels and will build the foundation for students to integrate 2-dimensional imagery on a 3-dimensional form.
Schedule:
10-12am: screen printing and transfer demonstrations
12-1pm: lunch break
1-4pm: play time
Participants will have the afternoon to experiment with transferring imagery onto leather hard work. It is recommend (and optional) that students bring 5-10 small, leather hard pots to transfer onto.

Israel “Izzy” Davis is an artist whose work plays between the boundaries of object and image. He has taught numerous workshops and exhibited nationally and internationally. Izzy’s work ranges in content from personal narratives, observations, particulars, and fun. He is a professor and head of ceramics at Central Michigan University.
