This course will dive further into the wonderful world of wheel throwing. We will refine and build upon your throwing skills by learning a variety of new forms and techniques with the help of some easy tips and tricks. All skill levels are welcome but one prior wheel throwing class is strongly recommended.

Phoenix – Made by Highwater Clays. Fires to a light tan in color. Great clay for beginners. Smooth enough to throw on the potter’s wheel, but strong enough to withstand most hand-building techniques. Can be fired from Cone 6 to Cone 10. 

Speckled Brownstone – Made by Highwater Clays. Fires to a light brown in color with small black specs. Great for throwing on the potter’s wheel. Can be fired to Cone 6.

Please note that there is NO CLASS or OPEN STUDIO during make up week (weeks of July 15 and September 2) unless confirmed by your instructor.

Tuition Refund Policy: Full refund or credit will be issued for any class cancelled by the Morean Arts Center. A $25 processing fee is deducted for all other student refund requests. No refunds will be issued on or after the first day of class.
