Bookish: 2022 Members Show
July 9 – August 25, 2022
Opening Reception: Saturday, July 9, 5pm to 8pm
Awards announced at 6:30pm
For over 100 years, the Morean Arts Center has hosted an exhibition to appreciate and recognize our artist members and celebrate their talent.
The 2022 members exhibition presents nearly 200 works of art expressing the theme of BOOKISH. Our artists were challenged to create a work of art based on a book—any book–christening the artwork the same title as that book.
Special thanks to the bookish Bob Devin Jones, who served as guest juror this year. He gave out monetary awards in memory and in honor of special artists and individuals who have shaped our organization in a profound way: Margaret Murphy Steward, John Brown, John Eckert, Tim Salen, Mark Pheiffer and Beth Reynolds.
If this is your first time (or your 101st time) to the Morean, there are a few ways you can participate in the exhibition. Consider purchasing a work of art from the show. With a wide range of price points, there is something in this exhibition for every taste and economic ability. It’s never too late (or early!) to begin or add to your own personal art collection. If you have never made art before, take a class and learn some skills that could put you in a future Morean exhibition. Many of our artist members first discovered their innate talent by taking a class with us.
Immerse yourself in the art experience at the Morean! Thank you to our incredible member who have made this the most popular exhibition we do all year. Thanks also to Betsy Orbe Lester, Tom Kaltenbaugh and Christopher Andrews who make our galleries look amazing.
Thank you to our generous exhibition sponsors!
