The Inspired Artist Studios at PARC is a career advancement initiative for artists of all ages wishing to participate in Florida’s thriving creativity industry. Artists are independently included in the contemporary aesthetic dialogue and contribute to a platform that promotes diversity and inclusion in the arts.
Florida Shines On is a special project that was sponsored by the Florida State Department Division of Cultural Affairs. The traveling exhibition celebrated triumphs promoted creation without limitations, and highlighted Florida’s beautiful natural resources by creating art with recycled art materials.
The exhibition was collaborative involving Teaching Artists from the community to work with the emerging artists with disabilities and fostered educational opportunities that encouraged the preservation of Florida’s ecosystem.
The initial months of the Florida Shines On project revolved around the aspects of learning new art techniques and applying them to the creation of the exhibition art pieces. During this time participants learned about the possibilities of working with recycled materials. There was a lot of focus on creative exploration of everyone, and on the task of bringing everyone idea into a cohesive group piece.
Florida Shines On is the collection of the artwork that truly represents “shining on” through challenges.
