Opening Reception: Saturday, July 11, from 5-9pm
On View: July 11 – August 1
Morean Center for Clay
420 22nd St. South

Artist Statement:

This perspective exhibition showcases the work created by Lily Denhoff in the first year of her residency at the Morean Center for Clay. Each of the ceramic surfaces are derived from the synergistic surrender that accompanies the woodfiring process. This discovery based body of work is a record of material research and different wood kilns/ firing techniques. Using an interdisciplinary consideration of material, she creates forms that express both literal and spiritual function. Through a play of scale and softness, each piece becomes a collaborative exploration of presence.
