Mickett and Stackhouse became involved with the Arts Center in 2003, the first year they lived in St. Petersburg. They developed a professional friendship with the then current Executive Director, Evelyn Craft. They hosted a dinner event in their large studio that became the first in the Arts Center’s Collector Series events. Carol Mickett moderated a panel for the Arts Center at the Poynter Institute on Corporate and Private Collecting in May 2004. Their January 2008 exhibition, Waves of Meaning, marked the first time that one exhibition encompassed the entire Morean gallery space. Mickett and Stackhouse also served on the Board of the Morean from 2014- 2015.
