More Art More Creativity More Experiences More Engagement More Impact

Born in 1947 in Massachusetts, Gale had a long standing interest in art. She pursued this interest by obtaining a degree in classical figurative painting. She began her artistic career as a museum curator. Her painting background later resurfaced and she began painting portraits of African-Americans such as Jackie Robinson, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. She currently resides in Sarasota, FL where she continues to paint and exhibit her work throughout the United States. In 2000, Gale curated an exhibition for the Arts Center called Six Artists Who Happen to Be…which featured works by African-American artists living in the area. It was the first show for which the staff developed a curriculum guide, encouraging tour groups from local schools.
