“I moved to Florida from New York in 1980. My first step was to find a compatible art venue, and I was drawn to the Arts Center. Dee Dewberry was the director at that time. I first displayed my work at the 1981 Festival of States Open Juried Show at the Center. Dee invited me to teach watercolor, which I did for several years. Later I had a three-person show with Mary Alice Braukman and Alan Johnson. “The Morean has continued to sponsor, support and maintain a place for art to be taught, displayed, and enjoyed. I am delighted to have been part of the history.”
