More Art More Creativity More Experiences More Engagement More Impact

“I remember my first introduction to The Arts Center back in the early 90s. I became friends with Betsy Lester, who had in turn told me about another artist (Margie Steward) that had gotten her degree in film and was the artist in residence at the Arts Center.  “I quickly became involved with the Arts Center. There was such a tight knit group of artists that were teaching, exhibiting and volunteering there. Of course, when I first entered a piece in the annual juried arts show, it was still in the building on 7th Street South.  It was very exciting since it was my first award, and sale of one of my sculptures! Thanks to Amanda Cooper, I was fortunate enough to have been given the opportunity to have a one person show in the main gallery in 2005, and most recently in 2016. I am proud to have been connected to the (Morean) Arts Center for all these years. I look forward to its continued vision and growth.”
