In the 1950s Norma arrived in Redington Beach with her husband George and expecting their first of three children. It would be the early sixties before she discovered the core of the budding arts community in downtown St. Petersburg and met many of her contemporaries. She painted and exhibited with, taught, studied and shared her artistic life with many of the area’s up and coming artists at the Arts Center which would blossom into the Morean. She studied with William Pachner at the Arts Center and then was one of the founding members of an organization that was born from his students, Studio 1212. Norma participated in the first group show at the Arts Center located on 7th Street South, and was in a three-person show with Shirley Frank and Kerri Silvernell in 1977. She was creative in all aspects of her life. Every breath that Norma took nourished a life lived in art.
