Rocky Bridges is a native of Tarpon Springs who works in mixed-media, usually involving metal. A graduate of Cooper Union in NYC, in the early 2000s he received a three year National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts grant. Rocky had a solo exhibition at the Corcoran Museum of Art in Washington D.C.., won Best of Show at Mainsail in 2009, and has exhibited broadly around the state and in this area. He teaches at the Harrison Arts Center in Lakeland. Rocky has participated in numerous shows at the Arts Center over the years, including the 2009 exhibition Visual Unity. That show, which the artist also curated, paired artists from central Florida with one another to create unexpected and exciting new work.
