“The Saturday figure drawing sessions were my first introduction to the Arts Center. I was invited to exhibit my work in 2003 and a year later I started working as the Assistant Curator of Education. From there I went to the Exhibitions Department where I worked on children and adult exhibitions and wrote the catalog essays and docent training materials. All that writing was good practice for writing children’s books, which has been my focus for the past ten years. “The best part of curating was the ever-changing aspect. Each show brought new artists, new ideas, and new challenges. The best thing about at the Arts Center was the staff. They were and are a group of smart, talented, dedicated people who love the arts and work very hard.”
