with Jo-An Thomas

March 1

March 22

Time: 10:15am – 1pm

Price: $60

In this workshop, we will revisit the bamboo painting and strokes that was done in Chinese Brush Painting 1 Workshop and learn new strokes to create the spring orchid and leaves.  A demonstration of the spring orchid will be followed by students practicing the new strokes. After practice, a final composition to include bamboo and spring orchid will be painted on rice paper.

This workshop will continue what students have learned in Chinese Brush Painting 1 workshop. Though it isn’t required to take Chinese Brush Painting 1 prior to this workshop, we HIGHLY recommend doing so in order to have foundational knowledge in Chinese brush painting techniques. If you choose to take this workshop without taking Chinese Brush Painting 1 Workshop, you will only learn to paint the spring orchid strokes.

Note: Wear comfortable clothing. India ink is permanent, be careful so that you do not ruin your clothes.
